Magnetic Particle Brakes

The magnetic Particle brake is a new type of transmission element that uses magnetic Particle as a medium and forms a magnetic Particle chain to transmit torque when powered. It is mainly composed of an inner rotor, an outer rotor, an excitation coil and magnetic Particle . When the coil is not powered, the active rotor rotates. Due to the centrifugal force, the magnetic Particle is thrown on the inner wall of the active rotor.

There is no contact between the magnetic Particle and the driven rotor, and the active rotor is idling. After the DC power supply is turned on, an electromagnetic field is generated. The working medium magnetic Particle forms a magnetic Particle chain under the action of magnetic lines of force, connecting the inner rotor and the outer rotor, thereby achieving the purpose of transmission and braking torque.

The magnetic Particle brake has a basically linear relationship between the excitation current and the transmission torque. It can transmit a certain torque regardless of the slip, with fast response speed and simple structure.

Key points for the installation and use of magnetic Particle brakes

  1. The magnetic Particle brake uses DC as the excitation power supply.
  2. The transmission shaft of the magnetic Particle brake is installed horizontally; the installation accuracy of the transmission shaft and the coupling is H8/f8; it is forbidden to use a hammer to knock the assembly; the installation coaxiality of the transmission shaft and the shaft connected to it is +0.03mm.
  3. During the transportation of the magnetic Particle brake, the magnetic Particle often gathers somewhere, which may cause “stuck”. The brake can be turned over as a whole to loosen the magnetic Particle, or pry it with a lever. In order to prevent the precipitation of magnetic Particle during transportation, the magnetic Particle brake above CZ-50 will pour out the magnetic Particle after testing and install it separately. The magnetic Particle can be gradually injected from the magnetic Particle hole during the running-in process.
  4. The water-cooled magnetic Particle brake is operated after water is passed through, and waterless operation is prohibited (water pressure 1.5~3kg/cm2). The inlet and outlet water pipes should be distributed up and down, with the inlet pipe at the bottom and the outlet pipe at the top.
  5. The magnetic Particle brake does not support the installation method of using radial to bear the main transmission force.
  6. Before the first use of the magnetic Particle brake, pass 30% of the rated current, run for 10 seconds, then turn off the power and turn on the power again, repeat several times to ensure the fluidity and uniform distribution of the magnetic Particle.
  7. The magnetic Particlebrake cannot be used at excessive torque or speed, otherwise the life of the magnetic Particle will drop sharply, or leakage, jamming, etc. will occur.

6 major maintenance requirements for magnetic Particle brakes

  1. Check the tightness of all installed bolts frequently to see if there is any looseness, and tighten the bolts;
  2. Check the sound produced when the machine is running, and judge according to specific requirements.
  3. When the magnetic Particle clutch and magnetic Particle brake reach the service life, please replace this product;
  4. When installing a sprocket or elastic connector on the magnetic Particle brake, do not knock the end of the mounting shaft with metal;
  5. Frequently add lubricant to the movable part of the magnetic Particle brake. The contact surface between the gears needs to be lubricated; lubrication of bearings and screw parts.
  6. Do not use it with overload, which will greatly reduce the life or directly damage it.
  7. When replacing the magnetic Particle of the magnetic Particle brake or magnetic Particle clutch, it must be operated by professionals.

Conclusion

The magnetic Particle brake is an automatic control component with superior performance and wide application. It is mainly used for unwinding and winding tension control in papermaking, printing, plastics, rubber, textiles, printing and dyeing, wire and cable, metallurgy, tablet presses and other related winding processing industries.
